4 romantic places for your proposal in Paris
have heard Paris being called by one of its many nicknames like « the city of light » or « the fashion capital », but the one that interests us today is: « the city of love ». Yes, France’s capital is known for being a very romantic city and this is why you can easily, all year long, witness brides taking their wedding pictures here and there.
Let’s now get to the point: your proposal.
It’s going to be a very important moment and I’m sure that you want to make it unforgettable. Great, I’m here to help!
Here are four suggestions of places that might help to make it unique.
1 .Le moulin de la galette
Located in Montmartre, this lovely restaurant used to be a a mill, a « guinguette » (café where Parisians used to go to drink and danse) and was then turned into a restaurant in 1980. With its 2 terraces, one on the garden side and one on the street side, this very charming place might be a great choice because of it’s neighborhood known for having a romantic atmosphere. The gastronomy is extremely good and they offer a wide choice of wines.
The lovely streets of Montmartre brings an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else in the city. You could also go for a short walk after the dinner and end up in front of a breathtaking view of the city at the top of the many stairs of Montmartre. Five minutes away from the restaurant is : « escaliers du calvaire » or « rue devret stairs », both offers a wonderful view of Paris.
As you probably guessed, Montmartre offers dozens of possibilities and these were just a few of them. You could also chose to go to the Sacré-Cœur or one of the streets behind it.
2. Le ciel de Paris
« Le ciel de Paris » is a French gastronomy restaurant located at the 55th floor of the Montparnasse tower. While the area of the tower isn’t that special, the view from the restaurant is a five stars choice! Make sure to make a reservation or you might just not be able to have a table. And of course, I recommend you to book a table with a view on the Eiffel Tower. Even for Parisians, it is very impressive! Also, you should know that every hour, at the beginning of the hour, the Eiffel Tower will shine for 5 minutes. The last one is at 11:00pm in winter and 1:00am in summer. Devil is in the details right?!
3. Avenue de Camões
This dead end in Paris offers one of the best view on the Eiffel Tower and, cherry on the cake, it is not the most frequented one! Which would be perfect for your proposal.
Make sure to bring a tripod for your phone or camera just in case the street is empty. Trust me, you won’t leave this place without a picture!
4. The edges of the Seine river
Sometimes, the simplest options are the best. Walking along the seine river is very appreciated by Parisians and it’s one of the most emblematic place to walk in the city.
If that option suits you, I would recommend you to go somewhere around the Notre-Dame cathedral.
The access is easy with the stairs and the view on the monument is priceless. A minute away by walk you could go to the area of Saint-Michel to have an ice cream or a crepe, or my favorite, both in the same plate.
Allow me to suggest you to hire a luxury car with chauffeur to bring you to these many places on a Paris by night tour for example. This final touch would definitely make the night unforgettable, we can even serve your favorite champagne on board to celebrate!
